Photographers Wanted

Are you passionate about photography and looking to build upon your portfolio? Would you like your photos to be publicized with a photo credit? If you answered yes to either question then we are looking for you! The Central Florida Soccer League is looking for photographers who would shoot games during the Fall 2014 - Spring 2015 season. After each game, like in a professional environment, you would edit the images and submit your top three images from any particular game. The images can be of a typical sports photojournalism style to a more artistic style. It is your choosing on how you wish to create your piece of art.

We will post the submissions we like best on our website complete with photo credit to you, the photographer. At the end of the season, we will name one photographer the CFSL Photographer of the Year and award them with a complete bio on the league website as well as a hyperlink to his/her personal website if they have one so that others can see more of their work.

Please contact us for more details.

To our Captains, Players and Fans:

The CFSL is celebrating our 50th Anniversary as a non-profit organization providing an amateur, adult soccer league to Central Florida.

The Central Florida Soccer League welcomes you to our brand new and much improved website. This site, along with our new logo, courtesy of Giov Designs, is full of features that we feel will best provide everyone with information and access to more opportunities within our beautiful game. Our league is the largest adult soccer league in Florida and we are taking the necessary steps to make certain our service offerings are ahead of the curve. This is Phase 1 of the website and we will be adding sports, exercise and health info, as well as expanding features and capabilities in future phases.

Some of the current and planned features for the website include:

Integration of League Apps. We know and understand how frustrating it is when information is not available to aid in your team planning and preparation activities. This web app provides timely access to schedules, game logistics, and updated standings as requested by team captains. Every player MUST be registered on League Apps in order to be eligible to play on a team. There is a lot of background and demographic information on the site needed from each player. This information is kept private and will help us apply for grants as part of our efforts to keep costs as low as possible for everyone. Within League Apps the Captains can report their score and it will automatically update the standings. If there are disputes on scores the league will be notified and will settle the dispute. When the referee reports are received the League will finalize the standings. If you do not report the scores via League Apps, the standings will not update until all referee reports are submitted.

Team Balance Status. This information is available under the teams tab. We took a vote during the Captains meeting and as agreed per a majority vote, we are publishing the balance sheet for every team. This way everyone is aware of each teams’ current payment status. All teams must have 100% of their CFSL team fees paid by the 5th game in order to continue playing the remaining scheduled league games.

Post Game Reports. In addition to reporting the scores on League Apps, we ask all Captains to complete a game report following each match. Information we would like to include: the score, who scored, who assisted the goals, game date, opponent, referee rating and comments, as well as, field condition rating and comments. The details from these reports will provide the league with data to help choose fields in the future, as well as, information to help us track the leading scorers for the season as we’ve implemented a Golden Boot Award Program.

Photography. The CFSL is looking for photographers to take action pictures and videos during the games. Anyone can participate and submit, after editing, three photos per week that they feel are their best shots. The league will review and publish the overall best three pictures per week and provide photo credit to the photographer. At the end of the season, the CFSL Site will feature an “online biography” of the photographer judged as providing the best photos all year as well as a link to his/her photography website.

Grant Writer. We’re also looking for a volunteer grant writer, our 2nd goal alongside growing the league is to reduce the cost to our captains and players in order to allow everyone to enjoy the beautiful game for as minimal a cost as possible.

Team Information. Under the Teams tab, you will find:

* Links to field call in numbers for parks that provide rainout hotlines.
* The Game Report and Team Financial Status mentioned above
* The official CFSL match rules and forms for teams
* A CFSL uniform style guide from Rival Athletics who can create any type of kit design for your team.
* Links to team websites. Please contact the league if you would like your team website posted. If you wish to have a customized team website created, contact Giov Designs.

Coaches. This tab provides the necessary information, straight from the US Soccer Federation, to anyone interested in coaching. It outlines the different types of licenses and you can locate course dates and locations. Secondly there are details from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America which provides another method for you to become a licensed coach.

Referees. Like the coaches tab, this area is specific to Referees information. Links for them to submit their reports as well as a lot of detailed educational information for those interested in becoming licensed referees.

Registration. Here individual players can register into League Apps themselves and captains will have the capability to review the “Free Agents” and contact those they wish to give a try out. Here teams can also make the necessary payments to the CFSL.

The Pitch. Coming in the future, the Pitch is an area where anyone who plays or coaches in the league can advertise their business and post job openings or post your resume if you are looking for a job. The CFSL community is one big family and we want to network as much as possible to help everyone out. Please contact the league if you would like your business posted.

Social Media. We will also be expanding our social media to include LinkedIn for those job seekers. YouTube will be available to load your game highlights.

Growth. We have plans to expand the Women’s Division and bring back the Co-Ed Division. If there is enough interest we will start a small sided division or possibly a futsal tournament over our summer break. We’re also building partnerships with local businesses, a youth soccer association and an indoor soccer association. We will also plan functions at local establishments to not only build up our brand but grow soccer in and out of the central Florida.

Again thank you for your patience as we went through our rebranding phase. We are so excited about our new logo and website and know the league’s future is bright. Please continue to contact us with your questions or concerns. Thanks again for all your support.

Sincerely,

The CFSL President and Board
