The Central Florida Soccer League is elated to announce our new affiliation with the newest National Premier Soccer League expansion team, the Central Florida Panthers Soccer Club! The NPSL is the largest established men’s soccer league in the United States. In the US Soccer pyramid, it is sanctioned the same level as USL League Two (formerly the PDL featuring our friends at the Lakeland Tropics and the Villages), the highest tier not considered professional.
This club will be participating in the NPSL South Region’s Sunshine Conference in 2019 against teams such as the Jacksonville Armada U23, Naples United, and the defending National Champions Miami United. The leadership in CFSL noticed an immense amount of great talent lurking within our own ranks and wanted to give our players and coaches more opportunities to further their careers in the beautiful game with an increased exposure via the NPSL.
“We expect to showcase the wealth of talent that participates in the Central Florida Soccer League and our affiliate, the Florida Suncoast Soccer League,” President Eddie Loyola added. “With an NPSL affiliation, we will be able to provide a pyramid of opportunities for our league’s amateur players and coaches.”
Not only does is the CFSL premier division sanctioned an elite USASA premier league, we are also the least expensive 11 v 11 league being a 501(c)4 not for profit league and the only amateur league with an official affiliation with an NPSL or USL Two league team. In 2019, the US Open Cup (which over the last two years featured three CFSL teams) will have 14
Some of the benefits for the partnership include exclusive trials only for Central Florida Soccer League (Orlando) and Florida Suncoast Soccer League (Tampa) players. Some exceptions will apply including U23 players with some of the local amazing youth academies if they are permitted to try out by their academies, local collegiate athletes that are not permitted to complete in the CFSL due to conflicts in their schedules and others.
The Panthers have a variety of volunteer coaching and staffing opportunities including Assistant Coaches, Goalkeeper Coach, Photographer, Videographer, Team Manager, Athletic Trainer, and a variety of roles for gameday. Would you like to gain real world experience? Build up a portfolio? CFSL members will have priority over any other candidate.
Tryouts for CFSL players will be held in February. Exact location, date, and time will be announced in the near future. They will play home games at Showalter Stadium in Winter Park.
