July 20, 2021 – Orlando, Florida – The Central Florida Soccer League (CFSL), a member of both the Florida State Soccer Association (FSSA) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) would like to announce that U.S. Soccer is now accepting applications from registered amateur teams to enter the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, U.S. Soccer’s National Championship. The entry deadline is Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at 2 p.m. CT. The CFSL is proud to have had a number of teams compete successfully in the US Open Cup. As a member of the CFSL, you are tiered at the same level as any of the other amateur leagues (except USL League 2 and the National Premier Soccer League) with more benefits for a fraction of the total cost of other eligible leagues. Criteria for teams to participate in the 2022 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup local qualifying rounds:
- Belong to a club or league of any US Soccer Member Organization that plays in a regular league competition with at least six teams each playing a minimum of ten games during the 2021 calendar year.
- Provide a home field that meets tournament minimum standards for local qualifying rounds (field at least 100yds x 65yds for each round). This is the responsibility of the team to secure the field.
- The venue must be identified at the time of registration for all dates in prior to the start of the competition.
- Remain as a member of the CFSL in good standing throughout the duration of the competition.
KEY DATES:
- Aug. 9 (2 p.m. CT) – Team application and entry fee deadline for Local Qualifying track
- Aug. 18 – U.S. Soccer announces teams approved for local qualifying and preliminary allocation of First Round slots among Open Division qualifying pools
- Aug. 23 – Matchups for first qualifying round announced
- Sept. 1 (4 p.m. CT) – Fall roster submission deadline for teams in Local Qualifying track
- Sept. 18-19 – First qualifying round featuring teams from amateur leagues
- Oct. 16-17 – Second qualifying round
- Nov. 20-21 – Third qualifying round
- Jan. 6, 2022 – Final allocation of First Round slots among Open Division qualifying pools announced (USL League 2 and NPSL qualifiers join in here)
